Uhuru CEO Takes Part in a Japan-Saudi Cultural Industry Event at the Saudi Pavilion, Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan
Uhuru Corporation (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Takashi Sonoda; hereinafter “Uhuru”) is pleased to announce that Mr. Sonoda participated as a speaker in the “Saudi Arabia Culture Financing Reception” held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the Saudi Arabia Pavilion in the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.

This event was hosted by the Cultural Development Fund (CDF) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with the aim of promoting international cultural exchange and investment opportunities by showcasing the appeal of Saudi Arabia’s cultural industries to Japanese entrepreneurs, investors, and cultural leaders.

The panel discussion, themed “Cultural Entrepreneurship in Saudi Arabia: Fostering Innovation and Heritage,” was moderated by Saudi cultural advisor Ms. Saba Alkhamis. Panelists included cultural business consultant Mr. Darren Barker, Ms. Hessa Alajaji, who supports traditional crafts and entrepreneurship, and Mr. Basil Alalola, CDF’s Chief of Credit and Investment. Together, they discussed initiatives in their respective fields and shared insights on future developments.

The audience included H.E. Dr. Ghazi Faisal Binzagr, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Japan, as well as a diverse group of leaders from various sectors—culture, food, sports, gaming, and fashion—as well as experts dedicated to preserving Japanese traditions.

In the networking session, Uhuru CEO Takashi Sonoda shared the company’s experience supporting the entertainment and sports sectors in Saudi Arabia and discussed the potential for new collaborations between Japan and Saudi Arabia through the integration of culture and technology. Looking ahead, Uhuru plans to contribute to joint project planning and strategic support in the fields of entertainment, sports, and tourism between the two countries. The company also aims to develop fan engagement platforms using CRM and digital marketing technologies across these sectors.
